They make a killer engine. A lot of the ski race blokes run the Merc Cruiser 1350/1650 in their race boats. Trouble free and come with a warrenty. But super pricey.

Man, one more thing to add to the "nothing but time and money" list of stuff to do when I win the powerball.

it has a 75k paint option! To demonstrate the company’s commitment to making its engines look nice in a car, Mercury offers the SB4 in a choice of 12 colors or “natural” for paint-to-match applications (such as the $75,000 Alubeam Silver job done on a different Mercury Racing engine for a Mercedes-AMG/Cigarette racing boat)

Mercruiser has been doing this for yrs, anybody remember the 470? Aluminum block 4cyl with a BBF head, stator charging so no belt drag, would push a 24' cabin boat with ease..

This is for cars tho, not made for marine use. Duty cycle and power delivery is a bit different. A marine engine needs to live at full power basically continuously but a car engine you want a bit more peak power and quick respond/revs.

the standard go-t\o outboards for power are the 300xs and the 400r, 300 is about $18k, 400 about 25-27

new builders dont really use the XS's, they are 2 stroke
the 400's they bolt 2,3,4,5 on the back of boats

the big fuck-you money boats they be bolting those 7 marine outboards on like they are $5 each they just dont give a F

My neighbor has a bigass 42” Yellowfin Center console boat with 3x 350’s and I thought that was crazy. Even used he could sell it for like $700k it is nuts.

Those boats with 4+ 7 marine outboards must be $1-2 million total...
