Coil overs or don’t do it
KW V3 Coilovers ride amazing! I love mine.So I looked around and there aren’t very many options to lower gen3 V’s. Seems like there’s only two lowering spring options aside from coil overs which I don’t want to do. It appears that weaponx springs lower the car more but potentially need a different rod for the mag ride arm or possibly reprogramming (read that somewhere here when I searched). The other option were Swift springs sold by Rennick which don’t appear to lower the car as much, but also don’t require anything as far as I’ve seen.
Who has used either spring and are you happy? How’s the car ride? How’s the stance? Any issues etc.?
Avoid Rennick like herpes. Or syphilis. So I looked around and there aren’t very many options to lower gen3 V’s. I ordered my KW's from Texas Speed, got them in 6-weeks.I actually had a bad experience back in the day with weapon x so really didn’t wanna give them my money.
Staying with stock suspension for now, v3’ s are fairly low so it’s not driving my ocd too crazy lol
Appreciate the heads up brotha. Gotta love learning the hard way hahahaIf you lower you're gonna need a Carlyle Stabilizer kit, or else your suspension geometry will be off, and your tires will wear like absolute shit. And you NEED a performance alignment form a RACE shop, not Pep Boys. Ask me how I know.
FWIW I just had a really bad experience with them as well. Based on written email saying they had them in stock, I ordered brake discs for a 2010 from them. Nothing showed up for two weeks and I had a deadline, so emailed asking them to cancel the order, and was told they would do so. Fast forward 6 weeks, no refund, so I advised them I was referring the matter to the Ohio Attorney General. Got a refund (although they kept the $59 shipping fee after only shipping brake pads). It is impossible to reach them on the phone, and their phone system recordings are a case study in how NOT to deal with customers: "to answer the phone is extremely difficult" "order updates are not given on the phone...please do not send another email".Would also avoid W/X like the the plague..
6 months wait time. Crap quality. Poor service. No refunds.
