Lost Link…. TMS Deal

5449 Views 78 Replies 11 Participants Last post by  Rubber Duck
A while back someone had a link to a TMS 388/427 short block Holiday price
and I cannot seem to dig up the thread and link.
I’d like to compare the deal
price (that’s apparently gone now).
Just for research purposes. Asking for a friend….

Anyone have the link or the thread?

I almost bought that motor but went for the lsnext 388. However, I didn't post a link.

Are you referring to the dart 388? If so they had it on sale for 8499.00

The Dart 388/427 was $7k. The lsnext 388 was $8,499. That's what I bought.

The 2000 hp is an lsnext, the 388/427 was a shp
My poor memory tells me the deal was called a “388/427” and I could swear it was SIX-thousand-something…. like $6,883
Also I think it was actually before Thanksgiving and it was mentioned in someone’s Loooooooong build thread

IIRC, Bladez posted that link. I remember seeing it and it was a 388/427 for under 7k.

You are correct. Like I said, I almost bought that but ended up with the 388 lsnext.
i’m wishing I had if it was available at that price in 427 form.

Pat g just tuned an 388 vette with stock ported heads and blower to over 1,000 hp. Basically the same build I'm doing.
But but … “FourTwentySeven” sounds SO much faster and sexier than 388.

It might be but when the man says the 388 is better, a wise man must listen to the wiser man.

If it’s on the car It must be true right?
Nope, it’s gotta be in there if it’s on there. If it’s mine at least. i WOULD like to build a legit 427.

376 and 388 just seem not as…. sexy?

As an unrepentant fan of ‘old school’ MKIV Rat Motors, Rocket motors, RB blocks and old Caddys….
I have already wasted too much thought to just how wild a 500” ‘70 Caddy mill would be if stuffed into a v… just for the bizarre of it.

I thought about a 500 tall deck Dart LS, but others said it would not fit well.
