[CTS-Vroom]

Hi all...

I was in a minor fender bender a few months ago where I was cut-off and ended up in the side of the car that cut me off. The driver of the other car made an unannounced left turn from the right lane (two lane, one way street), right in front of me, and I didn't have time to stop, so I ended up in the side of their car.

All of the damage is cosmetic/body damage. I had the car checked out, and the frame is fine. The car drives fine. No airbag deployment. No dash warnings. Alignment seems fine.

The body shop that I am working with currently has all the of parts that are needed for this repair, minus the passenger side headlight. My current light works fine, it's just that there are a number of deep scratches on it. Its Cadillac part # 84319720. The distributer that they work with is unable to locate the part, and apparently Cadillac has yet to say when one will be available.

I have been calling around the country looking for one. The closest I got was one dealership in Indiana that had one, but it was on hold for another customer.

I have contacted the large online GM parts stores, and they don't have them (even though their site says they do).

Just any help here would be appreciated.

It will be used, just as one purchased from a forum member, but car-part.com shows a dozen of them scattered across the country.

I was searching 2017 V and it wasn't coming up.

Changed to 2016 and it came up, but when I called they said that they don't have it.

The other places that I called wont ship for whatever reason.

The search continues...

Looks like the V has a different headlight than the base models. Tough because they didnt make a ton of these cars and I'm sure a new part is on national backorder. Those parts websites always say in stock until you order because they have zero stock and drop ship everything. I see a new aftermarket one on ebay but not sure how good those are. Anything 2016-2019 V3 should fit.

The other places should ship to your shop. Have your shop call if you located one. Good luck!

I see the GM part numbers are indeed different from V vs all other CTS trims. What is different with our headlights? From afar they look the same to me.

Just like V2"s have a darker housing V3's are probably similar. You might be able to swap the lens with a regular CTS but it's not easy. Search headlamp lens swap.

Thanks for the info. I wouldnt bother opening up headlights that expensive. Those things are tough to open as it is and these are shaped very irregular.

So I was able to locate a new one at a dealership.

I passed along the info to my body shop, and apparently they did call the dealership to confirm that they have it, but have yet to complete the purchase .

So the body shop received the headlight from their distributor, who apparently bought it from the dealership that I found.

These distributors should do more diligence when trying to locate parts.

Anyway... I dropped the call of this morning for the repairs to finally start.

What an ordeal!
