I need to purchase a new engine for my V sedan. Can anyone point me in the right direction. Not sure about Gm performance or a donor engine with low Miles and not a front collision .
Rebuild of yours not an option? What failed?I need to purchase a new engine for my V sedan. Can anyone point me in the right direction. Not sure about Gm performance or a donor engine with low Miles and not a front collision .
I believe he stated that he lost the engine coolant into cylinder #7.If your long block cannot be rebuilt (we wanna know what failed, for curiosity's sake), have a look through the Build Thread section to see what others have used in the way of aftermarket blocks. You're going to spend about the same money building a stock or stock replacement block as you would an aftermarket block.
May as well build a future-proof engine and get all the crying over with now.
As for finding a stock long block, I wish you the same luck I wish Random.
That was a big part of my logic on just rebuilding what I had...couldn't see how I'd ever make a claim if something failed on a crate motor without a bunch of effort, and probably expense, on my part to even validate a claim.Warranty is a nice feeling, but in reality it's still going to be a nightmare if you ever have a claim. I think the B15 long blocks are still going for less than 10k. If you go that route, swap the stock TTY head bolts with ARP studs/bolts, oil pump and barbell out the gate.
