Dont know the specs on the Gallardo, but stock ones are very slow FYI.

That's my car and my friends Lambo. It had exhaust and was converted to rear wheel drive. (Saves a few hundred pounds)

It would have been worse but that was before the tap, tap method so on the third honk I just floored it and let the car shift.

Move gear lever to right for sport mode. Select the gear to start your race, mash the gas and tap to the left and then immediately back to the right so the car will continue to shift on it's on. If you move to the right and select a gear it will hold the gear until you physically move the lever or paddles. (shifts slower this way)

Ah, so this is how you race a V. I could never figure out how to let the car shift when racing, I would always hit rev limiter.

QUESTION FOR YA... Have you ever run your V against your porsche turbo? If not then DO IT post video! It would be awesome. I know V would get beat but it would be a good video.

I have not lined them up yet. Have to find someone I trust to drive my V so I can drive the 911.

Not sure if you saw this but I did race a 2003 911 turbo with exhaust, tune and rear wheel conversion. (possibly turbo upgrade but not sure)

- So back to shifting. You go form sport shift select gear you want to start at and quickly tap back so auto trans can do shifting? Wouldn't it be better if the car was shifting in sport mode?
- Oh and what buttons do you push? Do you leave traction control on or competition mode?

So I turn all nannies off by holding the TC button for 5 seconds until you see Stabilatrack off. This is everything off. I then take the gear lever and push it to the right, select whatever gear for the race let's say 3rd. Mash the gas and do a quick flip to the left and then flip back to the right. This makes the car shift itself again but then puts it back in sport mode. Doesn't make sense until you actually try it.

This technique works very well too. It's what I usually do. It's harder to think about it than it is to actually do it.

Ok but how do you get a good hole shot from a standing start?

I have a post about going from dig. You have to take all the bells and whistles off then always launch from second. Never fully smash the throttle ease into it. U got to get the hang of it. Some guys say sport mode, others say let the car sit back down on regular. But everyone agrees let trans do the shifting.
