When I bought my 2007 it had a K&N CAI installed already. Still on a MAF setup, it made the check engine light go on and off a few times. I took it back to the dealer and they ordered an OEM and installed it, I made sure to keep the K&N. But now should I put it back on when it's time to tune it or is there a more preferred intake out there and sell it?

On the V1 a CAI doesn't really do much. I kept the stock airbox but replaced the convoluted intake tube with a carbon piece. Looks better, might flow better, IDK, couldn't tell any difference.

Yeah I know cai are huge debates. I don't think I'll use it anytime soon. Like your intake tube though! Looks really cool.

Probably just got oil on the MAF from the filter. Clean off the MAF with some cleaner and you should be good

I noticed that the stock airbox actually has proper ducting to the grille area on my 2005 V. I pulled out a Volante cold air intake because it was pulling air from a dead area underhood that is quite hot........
