I’ve found a alternative to using the GM iPod cable that came with the vehicle.
I’ve been using Kenwood part number KCA-IP202 along with a genuine Apple 30pin to lightning adapter, with my iPhone 11 Pro.
The Kenwood cord is longer then the GM and also about half the price on Amazon.

A lot of us have been using Bluetooth transmitters with great success. Less wiring and dongles, plus frees up your phone.
I thought about doing that but I don’t like the sound loss with Bluetooth. Do you retain the use of the steering wheel controls with the Bluetooth transmitter?

I do not have control with the steering wheel controls with a Bluetooth transmitter except for volume. And you are correct, the sound is lacking.

How is the sound with this? I assume you retain steering wheel controls?

I use this. Plug it in to the ports in the center console. You will not be able to use the steering wheel controls to skip tracks, though. Volume works. I have an iPhone, and Apple Watch, so I can control everything via my watch.

I went from a gas station aux cord to the Kenwood and it sounds really good. Yes you still retain all steering controls. Also all the song/podcast info shows up on the screen.

That is the exact one I was debating on using but I wasn’t sure if it would send the song/podcast data to the screen. Does it? Also with this, do calls get routed through aux or the stock Bluetooth?

I've been using since month 2 or 3 of ownership. I'm not an audiophile but it works just fine. I have the phone in a Squish phone wireless phone holder on the vent. Easy to control Pandora/Waze/Google while running all on the road.

I see no loss of quality, not that these factory stereos are top notch anymore anyway. I do use Apple Music which has a new Spatial Audio & Lossless audio built into the app. The audio cord and the brand transmitter does make a big difference, you’re right about that.

I use the Tunai Firefly shown above and it works great for me. I'm no audiophile either and typically use it for Sirius XM and have had no issues. Even though I'm no audiophile, the audio in the V is definitely not very good. My brother has a 2012 Buick LaCrosse and the audio quality in that car is amazing. Not sure why Cadillac isn't at least as good but his car has no power....hehe

No, the car does not display the song. Frustrating because my wife’s ‘13 Highlander will, and it doesn’t even need the adapter. Not sure why the Cadillac is so archaic.

Does the cable work with “usb” mode or aux?

In USB mode it says not compatible. Aux mode works but no controls from the wheel work. Same as all other cables I have tried.

The comments on the Amazon thread say this cable is a knockoff cable so maybe you got lucky?

I’ll be returning this cable as it does not work.

I have it plug into both USB and aux.

This is the other end, you have to have a genuine Apple adapter model A1468 or it won’t work.

When I first plug in I get a searching screen.
Then an unknown screen.

That Amazon link is selling the knock off units now. Check out how different the cable looks compared to yours.

I’ll have to try to track down the real cable—thank you for the pictures.

I see, definitely different. That’s Amazon for you. Maybe eBay?

I have one of those Tunai Firefly things and it is super flaky on connecting to my phone. It seems like it only works maybe 20% of the time right away and the other times I have to mess around with it for a while and sometimes go to settings and forget the bluetooth device and set it up again...its really not good.
Don't know if I just got a bad one but I hate it except for long road trips where its worth the hassle to connect it.
