Had a 2011 CTS and the liftgate button on the door worked just fine. This 2013 CTS-V button does not work. I've read a couple of posts that say there's some magic sequence to make the button on the door work and none of them work for mine.

Just to confirm before I take the car to the dealer, the button should work if the car is in park right?

NVM. Figured out that the button only works when the driver door is closed.

The engineer who designed this needs to be sentenced to having to get in and out of the car 1000 times and go through this silly step just to open the liftgate.

Edit: and the doors need to be unlocked even though one is sitting in the driver seat, ignition off, doors and doors closed. The only sequence dumber than this is operating the convertible top or trunk release on my '14 Camaro.
