How do you guys get any traction with 700+ HP. I see all kinds of posts about adding more HP and, honestly, I'm on the verge of selling my newly acquired 19 v3 because it's hard to get the tires to stick - and never mind the loose rear end at WOT. The car only has 2700 miles and I bought it with the intention of building it to maximize horsepower but was sorely disappointed in the stock performance.

Sounds like you need the most important mod of all - the driver mod.

On the street your going to continue to have a problem.

For the track. . .
Begin with a new rear tire and wheel, designed and also proofed in the field for your HP / Torque Target.

Good Luck!

Have you never owned a high hp rwd car?

Better tires make a world of difference and should be the first thing you do...most people running a lot of power on these cars run some of the more street friendly drag radials such as the nt555r2, some run the toyo r888r, theyre noisier than stock, but they are sticky tires.

The stock tires are lame even in stock form, even the michelin PS4S was a dramatic improvement over the stock super sports.

I agree that the driver could use some more wheel time - I don't think anyone is good enough at anything to stop learning. I have had other high performance cars from the Supra to the 911 but none as big as this so that part is a little new to me. I was just surprised how loose it was when I got on it... like I said, I have only had the car for a few months and, honestly, haven't had much street time with it but am here to learn so go easy.

I didn't want to invest in more hp and drive the thing into a ditch (figuratively speaking) so I figured I'd ask those of you that have more experience with the V3. I'll take advice anytime I can get it and this time I think I'll start with the tires.

I joined a while ago while looking at the V2 but it was not something I was able to do at the time. This 2019 came up with 1250 miles on it and I jumped on it. I've had it for a few months and put another 1200 miles on it. I don't get to drive it as much as I'd like but I sure do have fun when I do.

There are posts in the V3 section dealing with the sloppiness on WOT.

Great find BTW on the low mileage V.

Power vs grip, Please see my thread on this, I have the same concerns. Your only chance of getting decent launch are drag radials as many have mentioned here since the V doesn't have electronic launch control. This applies to most high HP RWD cars available today, you are simply not going to beat a GTR, 911, or C8 on a dead launch. For me, drag radials would ruin much of what I love about driving my V, it is a badass car car that gets lots of attention, is crazy fast, yet rides like a Caddy. Decide what you are using your car and what you expect.

Thanks for the link - that was a good read. I do agree with you in that I don't want to take away from the Cadillac feel of the car - that's one main reason I bought it. So which tire did you end up with? I have 2700 miles on my car and am leaning toward the Michelin PS4S - not the best of either world but perhaps the better of both?

Maybe, but does he know the width of that wheel? It could have been stretched. 😄
