Need help from US side. GM Europe is a joke.

My passenger seat occupancy sensor is broke.

Recaro car, built in 2011.
GM Europe wants to charge me for a cushin and the sensor ~ 3900 USD.

I read a topic here about somebody with the similar problem. He bought everything for 1500 bucks. Plus labor for the upholstery etc.

Could you help me by searching the parts in US. Is it possible to get it cheaper from a dealership in US ?
The airbag light is now on, i wont pass the MOT test in Europe.

I've entered your VIN in a couple of sites and it's comes back as 2012 model. The GM model years start being built in the 2nd half of the previous calendar year so it could easily be a 2012 model built in 2011.

Yes, first registration is on 8. of august 2011. Maybe a 2012 model. In Europe we follow the registration day , by sell or trade.

Well in Europe the sensor mat is still avaliable for ~ 3900 USD

That's a ridiculous price. Do you have a part number? It looks like the occupancy sensor is integrated with the seat cushion in some models, but I'm having a hard time finding a passenger seat cushion for a recaro seat. Here's a couple of websites:

tasca parts

Yes a non Recaro seat version is cheap. I recently contacted a dealer is Florida and Ohio. I come back if a got a parts number from somewhere.
GMparts direct doesn't have the Recaro sensor. Just the non Recaro.
Thats why i asked you guys in US for help.
I'm a dinosaur in Europe with my V2.

Seems that's the right one based on the VIN.
The only question is before i push the button : is the occupancy sensor included or not. Because by every search on GMpartsdirect , Tasca etc. the sensor mat is missing from the parts list. Clear numbered on the picture. I can identificate the occupancy modul but i can't order them separatelly. GMEurope told me the sensor and the foam lower part is mated together.
Anyway i will text tomorrow GMpartsdirect before i buy anything.

Could you just buy a used seat off eBay? Shipping may obviously be an issue but it’s a possibility. You can also search for hawks motorsports In Easley SC they deal with salvage cts-v’s I’m sure they have seats. You could always pay for the seat and just ask for the bottom cushion only to be shipped

Here's what they show. (includes pass present sensor)

There are hoops shippers need to go through to ship an airbag though. They need to ship in a special container, that will contain it if it blows up.

Yes , searched ebay allready. Same age all the seats, they won't last long(er) or have maybe the same problem. First choise is the new one, but thanks will contact Hawks Motorsport after GM gave me an answer about avaliabilty the occupancy sensor.
