I was watching a YouTube video last night, and Diablo Formula Racing placed down a heat reflective mat into the valley of a CTS-V engine (under the supercharger lid), would this idea actually work?

What he was using simply just looked like a foil bubble film.. not sure the actual name of the material.

In short. No it won't help. Most all the heat comes from the fact the SC is compressing huge amounts of air very fast.

Will certainly block any airflow underneath the SC.

There is a gap between the valley plate and the bottom on the SC.

Thanks, that what I was thinking.. that little "mat" itself would get heatsoaked quickly and also reduce airflow.

Mine had one of these from the previous owners.

You are right - its a thin piece of mylar / foil lined bubble wrap sandwiched together.

Yeah I remember your screen name too - just no avatar yet.

IIRC something about "Glasses make you sexy".
