All,

I have a ‘18 CTS-V with no sunroof - i searched as long as I did for a car without one because I didn’t want the extra weight that high in the car, and then I’d prefer to avoid potential issues with the unit (getting stuck open, leaks…etc.)

What I’ve noticed is that there’s some…slack in the headliner when I push up on it in the middle. It’s not totally tight against the roof. When the car was new I thought it was because of a potential airbag or something else, but now I’m suspicious. Can anyone else confirm that I’m not alone? Or maybe I am and I need to get it fixed?

When you say push up in the middle, do you mean directly in the middle of the car or in between the front seats?

Directly in the middle of the car - in between the front seats is pretty tight to the headliner but moving backward after that the feeling of looseness/slop comes into play. Hopefully the image helps? I feel like I can see it when I look at the in cabin lights and the shadows they give.

So, in an anti-climax.

I am a moron. The headliner is molded to dip in that area - where the sunroof would go if it were installed. Got a look at it in the daylight and went to the dealer where they had a gen 3 CTS waiting for service.

Same thing.
