Gates Green Belt number for Supercharger on a 2018 V

Does a Gates K080820HD a good replacement for the stock belt? Stock belt 83 inches Gates HD belt 82 11/16 ince

I am running a 10 rib max effort centrifugal supercharger on a 90's Impala. I have had the best luck with the Gates RPM belts (far better that the green belts IMO). Success with the RPM belts in this harsh application, has made me change my V cars to the RPM belts as well.

I was reading into the RPM belts a bit. The concern I had was some had reports of snapping since the RPM belt doesn't stretch like the regular/green belts do. Also since they don't stretch not sure how well they work with a stock tensioner setup since the factory belt is designed to stretch. I ended up just sticking with the stock belt for now. The green belts seem to get good reviews, but no personal experience with them. Lastly RPM belts are pricy. Question nsaness, you running RPM on a V2 or V3?

I use the rpm belt with no issues for a year now with 2.3 pulley and get into full boost often.

I currently run the RPM belt on a modified V2. I haven’t needed a belt on my (stock) V3.
My experience has been that RPM belts are stronger than the green belts AND they don’t stretch and lose tension like the green belts do. Admittedly, my Impala is the only harsh belt application I have, but on that car, the RPM belts are head and shoulders better than the green belts.

The K080820HD to small for stock pulleys ordered 830HD hopefully not to big...................

Going to order a rpm belt for my v3 once it gets here and I know part# for length.
Always hated the green belt visually because it stands out way too much in the engine bay. Fwiw I never had a performance issue personally with one on my v2 or my prochargerd 5.0

I hate the green too. I was happy when Gates recommended the (black) RPM belts as a solution to the problems I was having with the green belts. The RPM belt has solved my problems, as Gates said it would.

Interesting... I thought they were a fairly new belt type (I discovered them about a year ago when the Gates green belts were failing on me). Are you talking a particular size, or the entire RPM lineup? I bought 2 more as recently as October 5, 2022....

Pretty sure on hand stock is all there is. Seems gates no longer makes RPM product line or maybe our distributor just stopped carrying them but that would be odd.

With that said the green have been better to us.

I appreciate your explanation, and I guess this means I will end up reconsidering the green belts when I use up my RPM’s. I am glad to know that green belts are treating you well, it gives me more confidence to give them another chance (when that day comes).

I am sure you know but the 820 on the last part of the belt is inches...82.0 inches...try to find 825 if it exist or 830
