Is there any sort of good shop practice general rule regarding inspection and servicing of fuel injectors? ty

they should be fine just with regular use as long as u have a good micron filter before the injectors but after the pumps to help stop the little bits, other then that with the additives ur using it will prob keep them cleaner then just petrol as well, ethanol is good at keeping them clean as long as they have stainless internals otherwise if left too long without use can cause dramas

I did send them out to Dr. Injector prior to installing the engine. Just have some winter time now to perform preventative maintenance. Thanks ;)
only time ive had issue is when i had a lean event (one of my twin pumps was intermittently failing) it would cause the engine to go lean just as i hit boost and backfire into the manifold which put slightly unburnt gunk on the injector tips

If not running E85 then every few years is probably fine. Not sure how your toluene cocktail will effect things though. Maybe once a year to be safe.

If they are ID injectors you can send them in for maintenance and cleaning and they will check flow etc etc.

So ID will actually perform this service, how cool is that! I spent $145 to get mine inspected and serviced last time. Thanks for the tip.
Not sure what they’re charging now. Been a while since I worked there. But the process is very good, and they can tell you if they’re out of spec compared to when they were originally made etc etc

I'm lame, I thought it was free service offered from ID. haha
Attached is the place I sent mine prior to installing the new engine. Figured why get cheap after spending so much, potentially causing a tuning headache.

That was probably done on an asnu style flow bench. Different and more basic than what ID does
i seen a video on ID's flow testing and damn thats some quality gear they have there for testing

Paul Yaw (owner of ID) is probably one of the smartest, and coolest bosses I ever had.

What kind of flow bench do they use?

One that Paul designed from the ground up. Tests the injectors on multiple different phases, Volts/PW etc and sends a ton of data back to a program that Paul also designed so he (or the tech) can see everything the injector is doing. That’s the best way my meathead trigger pulling ass can explain it lol
Haha. Funny last part.

I asked because I sell flow meters that the OEM’s use to determine fuel flow…$$

I'll definitely make note of that! ;) I just try to eliminate as many trouble shooting points as possible. I even sent out the trans and blower for inspection prior to install. So, now if anything gets destroyed I can confidently blame myself.
