Need Help man! Just received the wifes car back from the tuners on Friday after a long winter build. Added alot of upgrades (list below), but receiving alot of DTC codes. I searched the forum and it seems everyone was getting different codes than me after their builds. The tuner said there was alot of communication loss during the dyno. He disabled what codes he could on the ECU, and left me with the following to figure out:mad:. The Car had no codes before the build.

I googled the codes and this is what I found:

C2011 - ?
B2111 - All door lock input short to ground
P0007 - Fuel shut off valve.

I have checked all the grounds in the engine compartment (including the CAI one), trunk and interior using the ground list of the forum. Everything was tight. I cleaned and added die-electric grease for a piece of mind to some of them that are exposed to the elements. Brand new battery installed before the tune as well.

I did not disconnect any unneccessary harness during the build, but I did try to remove the fuse box in the engine comparment so I could paint the bracket. It wasn't coming out easily so I stopped.

Mods completed this winter:
Ported OEM Heads with upgraded parts
Ported Blower
Custom Cam
103mm TB
5" CAI
Mighty Mouse
160 Thermostat
1050 ID injectors
New plugs and wires
2.38 upper, 8.6 lower
110mm idler
Prometh Kit with AEM controller
Dual Aeroforce Def mount gauges
Aeroforce wide band O2
DW300 fuel pumps with ALM top hat
SC spacer
Melling Oil Pump

After see my mods list and knowing what connectors I would of touched, is there anything that stands out to anyone to would cause this problems. I cleared all codes using the Aeroforce gauge, but codes returned immediatly after restarting the motor.

Would the fuse box in the engine compartment, if not seated properly cause this. I tried tighting the bolts, but they don't get tight. I think I read that this is normal.

Any help would much appreciated.

Obvious answer is to meticulously recheck the fuse box for loose connections or blown fuses.

Thanks Random. I took the fuse box out last night. No bent pins and everything screwed in properly. I will check fuses tonight

If it had no codes and they did the work why wouldn't they fix it?

I would remove these connectors from the back of the fuse box, inspect them closely and re-seat them.

I did that last night, Everything looks okay. I keep getting different code readings. I am now getting secondary fuel pump codes.

I did the actual work. The tuner did the porting and custom cam.

There is an electrical control module in these cars.
I believe this module is the floorboards of these cars?

When these modules quit functioning, the car does 'various' weird things.
At ~65K Miles, mine went out. Cost me about $1,500. . .

The described issues (random codes) fit with a failing ECM... But the other real concern given that major disassembly/reassembly was recently performed is the possibility that a harness or a bundle of wires got bolted between parts. I'm fairly certain you've done this twice-over but a thorough visual and manual tracing of every harness might be indicated. Back in the bad old days of the Lean-burn era, a raft of issues regarding misfires/no starts/battery drain/ dash lights and courtesy lights weirdness were all solved by loosening the bell housing and extricating a harness... (Thank Goodness the Corinthian Leather survived the ordeal)

It's a right of passage.

Dude. There are about 15 separate computers in the car. They're located in the dash, in the doors, in the engine compartment, at the back of the car. All over. But none are the floorboards or are in the floorboards... :)
^^^LOL.. :D

And that is why I stated. . .
"I believe this module is in the floorboards of these cars?'.;)

Here is the back-story on this;
I was driving the car home from a meeting.

All of a sudden, a warning flashed, regarding my suspension needing service.
And at the same time, I was not able to control my radio.

So since I was only about ten minutes from my home,
I decided to chance driving the car home.

I made it home, but next morning the car would not start.

And when the tow truck arrived, we found out that
the emergency brake now would not release

----------------------------------------------------

I have all of the services for the car done by the dealership I purchased it from.

I called the service advisor that has taken good care of me.
I had the car towed to the dealership.

They ran diagnostics on it, and informed me that a Control Module. . .
'Had Lost It's Ability To Control'..

The module was about $1,500.00, and they amazingly had one in stock.
I told him to hang up, and walk directly to the parts counter and claim it for me!

Replaced the module, and everything returned to normal.

--------------------------------------------------

I think the confusion about where the ECM is located, is because my
wife's Audi Q7 had previously, also lost an ECM.

It was located in the floorboards.

For that mistake, and understanding that I am an 'Old Man'. o_O
I hope that you can now find it in your heart 'To Forgive Me'..:giggle:

Cheers

In Bruce's defense, the BCM is located under the center console on the top of the Trans tunnel, IIRC. So basically the floor board.

Frankly, I know that I had asked the Service Advisor that question,
and I 'Thought(?)' that was his answer. . .

But then thought I was thinking about my Wife's Audi Q7..

Okay, now I will simply sit back and wait for the
sarcastic, but humorous responses to this..:D
