Disclaimer: Just ran across this while browsing on Ebay. It's not mine or from anyone I know.

Here is the link to the Ebay listing (link)
17+ LT4 Supercharger Lid. Higher Lid. Corvette Camaro Z06 ZL1

Here is my take on this

If you have a V3 and have been interested in upgrading your supercharger lid, this may be a good buy depending on the winning bid price while also taking into account tax and shipping for your final price. This lid should be identical bolt pattern to our CTSV LT4 lids but just taller. Do you homework though because I don't think anyone here has done this upgrade using a Z06 lid to verify 100% fitment. I've posted some reference information below to help on this topic.

I was the guinea pig who bought a 2022 CT5-V Blackwing lid sometime back (see this thread). Mine bolts right up perfect but was too tall to fit under my upper strut brace and required spacers to clear the taller size. I'm now going to have surface material milled off to clear the upper strut brace instead of using spacers which I wasn't thrilled about and will powder coat it when done and post pics when finished in a couple of months.

If the Z06 lid from Ebay bolts right up, you'll either have to run it without the upper strut brace, use spacers to raise the brace over the new lid, or have material milled off the top and customize it to your liking like I am doing now. And if you are going to bid on the Ebay lid, set your top bid price under the price references below for alternative options.

The 2022 CT5-V black wing lid part number is 12712266 and is available now on gmpartsdirect.com for $500 (link) which includes all gaskets but final price is dependent on tax and shipping to you. An easier route that fits perfect and is used by many people here may be to just buy the DSX Tuning lid (link). This lid lists at $650 without new gaskets and doesn't include tax and shipping, final price with tax and shipping varies on your location. If you want your DSX lid powder coated, they offer this service for $100-200 depending or you may be able to find local shops that can do that for less. While I'm going to mill and powder coat mine, I can't provide comparable information on cost per service but will post when I get to having this done.

Interesting. The BIN price is 550 so I cant imagine you getting an offer price very far away from that. Seems pricey for a used part. In either case I'm a bit confused. What car did this originally go on? It doesnt say corvette so is it from a 17+ V3/ZL1 and this is an upgrade for a 2016?

$550 may not be bad considering all other options out there, but it's still used and a brand new blackwing lid is a little less $$. It’s most likely a Camaro ZL1 lid because you're right, I think the Corvette Z06 lids actually say Corvette on them. It is an upgrade that can get you 10-20hp, lowers air temp, and also increases the supercharger noise. There are dyno sheets around but the quickest one that I could find while getting ready this morning is for V2s and is applicable (link).

Here are pictures comparing my original lid on the left to the black wing lid on the right. Quite a bit bigger

Ahh ok. I know our cars are rated 10hp less than the ZL1/Z06 but I guess I always figured that was in the tune so they didnt best the C7Z. Guess its a little more than that. I can easily see GM using a bigger lid and a hair more timing to get 10 more hp. Perhaps the strut tower brace fitment issue you mentioned is part of the reason for the smaller lid. On another note, is that Range worth it? It v4 really that bad for our engines?

I found the part number for this particular ZL1 lid, it's 12689364 and runs at online discounts starting at $650+ brand new. So there is the best point of reference for bidding on a used ZL1 lid for our cars.

Not to get off topic... 😉

There are debates on whether AFM is bad for our cars and it seems to get lumped into AT shudder discussions. I can tell when V4 comes on and I just don't like the way that it makes the car feel even if it's only momentary. Search on AFM and Range, you'll find a bunch of really good reviews. I'm waiting to have my car tuned and AFM disabled after I get the upper pulley installed.
