Heyo.

I've been looking for a CTSV2 for quite awhile and was lucky enough to pick one up last weekend. Decided to finally join the forum after lurking for the better part of a year.

I saw this car posted in a FB group and I didn't think I would end up with one modified to this extent but it had pretty much everything done to it already that I would want to do. It had 92k miles on the chassis and less than 3000 miles on the engine/supercharger/clutch and all the other parts in it.

I flew out to Chicago from Phoenix, drove a rental from there to northern Indiana, got the car then taped up the front end and proceeded to drive it nearly 2000 miles back home. I don't trust shipping companies and I didn't have enough time off to drive my truck and trailer all the way there and all the way back.

The mod list is a mile long, I can post some highlights if anyone is interested. It's currently making north of 800whp on this setup, iced on e85. Completely built LSA which now I believe is 6.3l, stock blower with Jokerz full tilt port, 9.17/2.45 pulley combo.

If anyone wants to hear it, I'm starting to post some stuff on my Instagram page as well. www.instagram.com/hmrfactory

That's a good looking sedan! The tire/wheel combo is well done; and I VERY much like the side splitters under the door. Any idea who made them?

Congrats on an epic purchase and drive home; and welcome to the forum!

Looks great!

Pretty sure that the side splitters under the doors are EOS pieces.

I have the same on my coupe.

Welcome and nice pick up. M6 slicktop is a pretty rare bird right there.

I bet that was a fun drive home!

Yeah the drive went great, broke it up into three days, stopped in Tulsa and ABQ. I'd never driven a CTS-V before, but I've wanted one for quite awhile and just went for it. I thought I might not like such a heavy car since I have a sub-2000 pound '94 Miata that I use for wheel to wheel racing on road courses, but thankfully I was wrong and I'm liking it a lot so far. I had my reservations about taking such a modified car on a 2000 mile road trip but it performed flawlessly the entire way and other than being brutally loud right now the street manners are pretty decent and it rides nice down the road. The hardest part was trying not to put the hammer down during the drive back, I was doing my best to reduce the risk of something breaking in the middle of nowhere.

Why the tape on the front end? (Or this something that I'm the naive one, and should know what it's all about?)

Congrats on a sweet ride. I also have a slick top M6 sedan. And I dig em.

It's a common thing that you see cars do at track days to protect from rock chips, so I decided to do that for the long trip back. It definitely saved the front end from chips a few times.

And yeah definitely rare, if this document I found is right there's only 257 v2 slicktop M6 sedans ever made for the US market. 25 of them in red.

Nice find! Where in Northern Hoosier Country? And good on ya for driving her home! I bet that trip was actually short. I remember mine and I loved every one of those 1200 miles. Smart to tape the front end. I just bought/(ordered) an Audi RS6 Avant and will be driving it home in a year. I'll remember to tape my front end, too.

It was near South Bend. During the drive it felt like it was taking forever but now looking back it feels like it went by pretty quick haha. Definitely a good way to get familiarized with the car. The tape definitely reduces the chances of rock chips, so you can get a chance to PPF it before anything else happens. I've been debating about doing PPF on the whole front end because the paint is in such great shape with almost zero chips.

@Arca_ex you can find stock exhaust mufflers and they are quite good for loudness and unless you're in the 800 or higher HP range, they aren't a hinderance.

Yeah I've got some stock mufflers lined up already, just gotta go grab them. I'm over 800whp but was planning on doing cutouts as well.

Nice, I was planning on trying to go to this cars and coffee thing in Mesa on Saturday to meet up with some friends if you're on that side of town. SW corner of Power and McDowell probably around 7:30a.

If my car is done from black market racing I’ll definitely go. It’s over by my house
