Coming back home on the Turnpike in Mexico, light traffic but too many Camry's in the left lane but finally the 5 lane highway opens up and my and the C8 do an 80mph pull. I had about 3 cars on him by 130 mph.

100% bone stock. Walked the C8 solidly. I guess at speed, the lack of horsepower shows

The C8'S low weight, combined with the weight distribution/traction and gearing advantage are critical bonuses off the line, but they have rapidly dimishing value as speed increases. They are not meaningful once up to speed, especially in straight-line racing.
Also, total weight of a car has NO real effect on the ultimate top speed it can achieve (assuming unlimited room to do it) other than maybe the slight change in the tires' rolling resistance.
