Engine won’t shut down??

Having a problem! Took my ’17 V3 to a local shop to have plugs and wires, changed and add AFR gauges. Shop had to weld bung outlets on exhaust (with pipes off) and disconnected battery for an extended time while doing the welds and running wires. Problem is car cranks up fine, but when you push the button to turn off, the electronics turn off, but the engine keeps running and they have to remove a relay in the fuse block to shut it down. They have replace that relay, but still have the same problem. Anybody have a clue or is the car just possessed now? Car is modified 880 rwhp on 93. Driven 3000+ miles before this problem started.

I would find out where they tied into power for the wideband ? Could be a feedback issue , try finding a different power source or add a diode.
Its a wire short or an incorrect power source used for the gauge. It's impossible to say which without testing and making observation. A quick easy 1st test method is to test for a short:

•With engine not running of course, make sure the removed relay is installed.
•Insure power down/off of "ALL" vehicle powered accessories and devices, doors, trunk closed.
•Remove positive terminal from the battery, wait 5 minutes.
•connect 12v test light between the battery terminal and battery, there should be NO light. If the test light illuminates, you have a wire short.

The test is very basic, but is a good first step to determine a short, you can't hurt anything, so don't worry.

Keep in mind if wire short, it may not necessarily be a wire for gauge installation, it could be other small gauge wires located in the area of work that suffered wire insulation damage due to being pulled and scraped across a sharp surface and/or object. So check all the wires throughout the entire work area route that may have been disturbed for wire insulation damage. There might even be wire damage caused from a screw grounding during re-installation of parts and/or access panels? So use a good head lamp and visually check everything!

Should also mention that they have disconnected the AFR gauges and still have same problem.

Which relay are they removing ?
This shop made 880 on 93? No meth and it lives?

Probably on a Mustang dyno...they always read high.

This. The ECM shuts off when power is removed. Something they wired is backfeeding the ECM with power from the battery so when everything else shuts down the ECM keeps going.

So what's the latest?
So, I don't mean to be rude, but is the same shop that said 880 to the tire.... If not fighting now to shut the motor down? It could also be a crossed wire, anything but the shop should be dealing with it..

This seems like a red flag...

Yeah, it's confusing, totally agree. I offered help in case he was just trying to better understand the situation with little effort/risk. It's nice to have shops fix their own mistakes, but at what cost? If they botched this, not really sure I would allow them the opportunity to cause more damage. Another shop is definitely at the top of the list for consideration!
Tbh, if the car went in and was fine. They changed something, it's on the shop. I can totally understand, but at that point is it on you? They touched it last. It seems like a crimped wire or something stupid...but still.... "my motor won't shut off" seems a big deal.

I can only imagine what you're dealing with... All the best
Or maybe its a botched bcm... But again.... Went in OK. Can't turn the car off... Just my...02

Good luck chief
