2004 CTSV arrives tomorrow. I remember dreaming about this car at 18. I’m finally ready for another project. Purchased from Lithuania sight unseen, lol. American spec, but bad accident turned salvage so sold to EU for better return on repair. Seller says parking brake doesn’t engage/latch. I’ve read that a few people have had luck with cleaning them out. Anybody have an issue solved by cleaning? Is it a Tough job to just replace it? Thanks!

The motor? I haven’t looked at it yet, but I thought it was cable actuated. Wouldn’t the cables run all the way back to the drums? Is the latch mechanism motor operated? Previous owner said the car holds with the e brake pressed, but that doesn’t mean the shoes aren’t worn down. Thanks for the tip! I haven’t worked on many manual cars.
