I was removing the strut bar and I dropped the socket by mistake and it was fallen behind the brake master cylinder, couldn’t reach it by hand , is there anyway to get it back?

NO. There is a black hole within a cavity under there that feeds into a tool crypt. Do not venture.

This is the make up set from Harbor Freight. These are ALL 10mm.

This is true for anything that may fall into the abyss of the V engine compartment! Ask me about a header bolt and retainer clip that didn't hit the floor, and after searching for hours (I even have a lift!!!) GONE! Disappeared forever!! Mr. S knows all!!

Might be all engine bays and not just the V. Same thing happened for my wife's Edge ST. Dropped one, it's gone and I mean gone. I can only assume tiny black holes that feed on tools operate inside every engine bay.

I have a strong magnet at the end of a flexible rod I bend and twist to reach in to the nooks and crannies to try and retrieve shit I drop.

If I can't get it back, well then, fuck it, it needed replacing anyway.

Same rule applies to trying to get something that's stuck, unstuck.

If it won't move, force it. If it still won't move, get a bigger hammer. If it breaks, fuck it, it needed replacing anyway.

I still have a 10mm socket in the interior somewhere.... I think it's in one of the AC ducts. Lost that one 5 years ago.

I've forgotten how many 10mm sockets are in my engine bay....

I dare you to take a BERETTA 22/32 semi auto apart without a spring being sucked into that black hole.

Awesome! I'll admit I have fished out a couple of bolts out of THAT abyss with a magnet tool and compressed air! :ROFLMAO:
10mm yeah you will never see that thing again. I drop mine, watch where it goes and still never find them

While out in shop with me recently, wife let my daughter play in an open blow molded case of 3/8 impact sockets, just picking them up, rearranging them, whatever.

I go to put them all back in place end of the night...guess which one is nowhere to be found? 10mm. She's two. How did she know to lose that one?

My point is OP, it's predestined, and you're fighting against the will of the universe.

I lost a 10mm in mine and found it again months later while doing something else under the car, sometimes they do turn up later.
OP was removing the strut bar, that's an 18mm. Might need to find that one so it doesn't do damage riding around with the car...
