I would bet at some kind of warning feature for voltage or the security system. Sorry not very helpful but try googling and see if you come up with anything on the interwebs

I had a (kind of) similar issue with a used car I bought once. It would randomly flash the parking lights. Turns out it had an aftermarket alarm system and one of the remote fobs was faulty and would randomly trigger the lock/unlock button. After removing the fob battery it was fixed. The cars door or front door isnt locking or unlocking when the handles light up correct? I dont think they light up any other time.
