This is my first LT small block but I’ve drove plenty of LS motors and they all ate a bit of oil. I’m at 30ish percent oil like so maybe 5k miles and I was down about a quart. The oil was in the hash marks on the bottom of the dip stick and it took almost the whole quart to bring it to the middle of the normal range. I’m guessing this is normal? I drive my car like I stole it btw.

Right where mine is after 3-4k miles. Oils still clean.

Driven 0-40. Great oil.

Researching: 0-40w is a scam for emissions. It's thinner. I'm running Pennzoil Ultra Synth 5w-40. There a whole thread on here about engine oil. Check it out.

0-5-40 there's a negligible difference. Only at low temps. Operating and these cars heat up fairly quickly there should be no difference at all. I know the fuel economy bs but the difference is negligible.

My 2016 V I run the mobile 1 5w30 and it always seems like it uses a quart in about 1,500 to 2,000 miles. I will say that reading the stick can be tricky. Sometimes the level on the stick looks low and you wipe and check again and it looks good. It also is good to wait a bit for drain back. Even changing the oil it seems to take a good 15-20 minutes for the all the oil to drain back.
