Why do you need to disable it?

The trick is "not causing codes"
I don't think it can be done.
If you need to disable it, the connection is under the rear tray. Bright yellow, can't miss it. But you'll have codes.

There's probably a way to put a dummy load on the connector to fool the BCM in to thinking the airbag is there. I don't think the connection is "digital", I'd expect there to just be a wire to trigger the bag, and a separate wire to sense that the bag is connected, and a ground maybe. Post a picture of the connector once you get it apart.

Just trying to avoid being hit it the face by the gauges.

Get over "cranium factor" concerns with pillar mounted gauges, engine awareness is primary. However, out of caution I mounted mine on the passenger side. I'm not sociopathic, just practical when it comes to my health, one can never be too safe. Passengers are just siting anyway.

The fabric bag is secured via bolt to pillar, back-out bolt, cut bolt from bag, fold bag back under upper ceiling liner.

That's fair. Provided the gauges are secure and you reattached the plastic tether when you reinstalled the pillar trim, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Why are you bringing up my ex-wife? LOL
I was talking about mine. I chalked it up to a gender defect.
But who am I kidding? We're all cunts here.

When the curtains pop that trim doesn't go flying off or come at you at all. I don't know how you'd disable them without a light but I pull fuses when I need to disable mine for auto xes and what not. The fuses are clearly labeled in the owner's manual as air bags, there is one in the underhood block and one in the rear by the battery.

This is probably the case. The BCM probably looks for the resistance across the ingiter. The trick would be to get a resistance reading on that airbag without setting off the igniter. Then, just match the resistance with a resistor and jumper it in the circuit.

It's like the steering wheel and passenger dash airbag trim pieces. When the bag pops, it splits open whatever it's behind, no loose pieces get projected (unless it's a Takata airbag).

You can bet that information is out there someplace, part of the specifications from the airbag manufacturer...
