I wanted to update the thread and put the website upfront to save you guys some digging:

oemprovements.com

This thread was originally started after I purchased a 3d printer to make my own gauge pod for my wideband, that would go into the defrost vent and look 'stockish'. I worked up a few different combinations as you guys spoke up and here they are.

Single for an AEM X-series wideband:

Back view of AEM gauge secured to support bar.

Single for an Aeroforce:

Dual:

These are 1.63 in deep and will hold a variety of gauges. If you need something deeper let me know.

Fitment views:

Feel free to PM me with any questions.

So it allows the air to come up?

At the moment, the air from the defrost will dead-head on the backside of the gauge. I had to use my defroster last week (crazy Houston weather) and it didn't cause any issues or make whistling noises typical of air passing through a restriction. I'm debating whether to try and add a side vent or call it good.

I had one person ask about the heat the defroster creates or cabin temps in the Texas sun and a possible melt concern. While I have not tried to melt this thing in the oven, I can tell you the printer heats to 365F before it prints and the last time I took a temp gun to my dash in the middle of summer it came in at 135F.

Looks very nice!
I need one. I’ve been looking for a solution like this. Make a double that goes in there. Awesome work.

PM me if you would like to purchase one. The deal I'm going to offer is $75 for forum members.
The double will be a little down the road after I finish some current obligations.

Let me know when you have a double.

A double would be nice. Are they
2 1/16” openings?

Same here I'd prefer a double but am getting the single now, won't be putting it in for awhile so maybe the doubles will be out by then. Ortiz Custom Pods makes a triple but they don't seem to understand English when asking them where exactly does the pod fit, answer I get is "Yes will fit its the same" WTF same as what ... :/

The opening is 2-1/8" , that support bar is 1/2" in from the shoulder. The opening in the bar is 3/16" and perfect for the 1/8" threaded posts on the backside of your gauge so it can clock perfectly and never rotate. :)

Damn you cunts and the double, I'll see if I can manipulate my model easily enough tonight to post a screenshot and see if everyone is on the same page.

I have an Ortiz for my redline ion and it took 4 months and the quality is way below par. I wouldn’t do it again. The triple the offer doesn’t work with navigation either from what I read.

Took me 2 weeks start to finish to develop this pod, and let me tell you that vent tube is anything but square lol.

You can do it!

I am more than willing to provide full nerd explanations if desired...

I asked them where the pod went & if a hole needed to be drilled in the dash for the wiring ... They told me the triple pod goes on top of the dash but the hole for the gauge wiring is on the bottom of the dash, doesn't make any sense to me ...

So something kinda like this? Pod 2 is set back .25in here, rather flush? Approx 45 degrees tangent to the first, although i would def want to print one and double check that #2 isnt blocked by the steering wheel.

And we all know how much everyone appreciates a rear end pic around here:

Let me know what you guys think, prefer different etc...
