Hey y'all,

So I've gone through my second stock diff in a year and I've decided to shell out the money for an 8.8 from Creative Steel. My question is since I already have a DSS 1-piece, do I need to have the driveshaft modified for the 8.8 or can I use the adapter meant for the DSS stock replacement shaft on their website? After talking to Max at CS, he said modification may need to be done due to the length being different between shafts for the stock vs. 8.8 diffs. I'm hoping I can just use the adapter found on their website and not have to send off my driveshaft back to DSS for modification. Anyone else done a swap already having a DSS shaft?

Thanks y'all, have a nice day.

You will more than likely need to have the shaft shortened. I'd install and measure first (theyll need that measurement anyway) but some driveshafts are adjustable. If I had to guess... you're talking 2-3" difference at most. You may have to tweak the exhaust also.

If V1, the 8.8 is a good option.

If V2 I'd suggest looking at Gforce. Their unit is superior for not a whole lot more money IMHO.
