Posting in Classifieds

Per Tony's request there are some new rules regarding posting in the classifieds section.

CTSVowners.com was designed for members. Users who sign up and "post whore" with the intent to reach the 50 post minimum just to sell will be banned and all post deleted. If there are special circumstances, please contact an administrator or one of the moderator’s. You can request to become a vendor on this site by contacting Norcal SS directly. This is for CTSV related products only. When posting something please do the following: These rules apply to ALL Members (Vendors included).

1) You must have 50 post and one month as a member to sell items on this site. You will also need 50 posts to start a WTB thread. Reviving old threads and/or double posting in threads just to get your post count high enough to sell is NOT permitted. If you are found doing this, your post WILL BE deleted. We welcome all members, but we want you to be a part of our community and not just sign up to sell items

2) If you are able to sell in our classifieds section. Please have items supported by pictures (Actual pictures. No links to ebay, craigslist, ect). And your asking price for said item. We want our members here to see what you have available. If you have other items to add, please update your pictures and modify your first post.

3) Included in the pictures of items being sold. Please have screen name and date on a piece of paper. This is becoming a known trend in selling items on many sites throughout the internet, and we want to know these items are in your possession at the time of sale. If you don't provide proper pictures with your thread, the thread will be deleted without notice.

4) If you have been reported in the scammers section. You will not be able to sell here, and any existing "for sale" threads you may have will be deleted. If we find that you have started a thread selling an item, your thread WILL BE deleted without notice and followed by infractions.

5) Please respect the sellers thread by staying on topic. If you go off-topic or try to sell/mention your item in another members thread, your post will be deleted followed by an infraction. Along with this do not degrade the sellers thread by posting comments about the condition and/or price of what they are selling. If you feel you can help the seller by adding something (example: price is too high because there are six for sale for half that price) and you want to do so then please do it in a PM.

To make the above work properly you will notice that user titles have changed. New users will have a title that says registered user. When you get 50 post and have been on site 30 days your title will upgrade to active member. At this time you are allowed to use the classifieds.

Fair enough. I've never used the paper with screen name but that is definitely a good idea.

It's suggested. I recall it from the TBSS site, and as long as it's suggested, I will leave it at that, until I am directed otherwise.

My intention is to stick to the 50 posts and one month, at least in it's intent, as I think that's the biggest issue we are having, for the most part.

I also don't want to see a lot of thread crapping. I don't care if a thread gets going on a tangent, but posting cheaper prices, low-balling, etc. in a thread isn't right.

I believe if you want to offer a lower price, or mention that it's cheaper elsewhere, do so in a PM.

I don't believe in censure, but I do believe in treating people with respect (at least most people...haha).

Karch,
OUTSTANDING!!
Rule 3 is a great one, as saw an epic thread on CF where scammer took over $3K, he was selling for 50% retail and never posted pics of ProC D1 and other items.
Now if you can figure out how to get the members out of here that keep buying every good item 30 seconds after initial post,,,

With all due respect, don't you think 50 is a bit much? A lot of people on here are discouraged from posting because the information may be deeply buried in this site somewhere. Many users will call you out on repeated posts or information. And with the search function not liking words under 4 characters, such as HX or ZL1 lid, it only makes things more difficult.

I know your main goal is to improve the forums, and I agree with the other changes, but 50...
I feel like more will turn to the Facebook V community for classifieds and others more so with such restriction.

True.
I see less of a threat of fraud on the buy side, though I (personally) prefer the parts go to V owners intending to use them on a V, but all/most of us are grownup and I'm all in favor of a free market (without subsidies).

So true ^^
I'd love a filter that lets established members see the for sale threads for,,, let's say, 5 fn minutes before the noobs can even see it!..lol Those guys with 4 posts and 1 week on here snipe all the best deals in 30 seconds! I've missed so much loot this way

On the flip side,, I've saved a ton of $$$ this way too..

I don't like asking a question that's been beat to death either so I know where your coming from on using the search.. I did stumble across this.. I found that Googles search engine will pick up those small key words.. Just put this site:www.ctsvowners.com after your search phrase, all in the same box.. Using site:www.ctsvowners.com makes google only pull results from this site. It works pretty good..

I too like this, but it would need to be well thought out and fair.

Just an example:

Give a heads up, maybe a few minutes before the next bracket gets to see it:

Forum owners/founder
Moderators
Members who are most helpful
General members
Canadians
Texans (this could go before Canadians, this is because, A: TX already has the most V's and most highly modded V's, and B: they are constantly talking about how great TX is (though I do like their V flag emblems))
G8 owners
Noobs.

Anyone else have a list of order they would like to see?
