It's the same carrier, but I'm tracking doing all the shims is a bitch on these (one of the reasons they don't get rebuilt). I ended up getting complete 3.73 from GM and putting it in.

how big a change? can the computer be adjusted for the change?

You can change the gear ratio to anything you want in the ecm. It's just doing math to calculate the speedometer.
