Bypass radiator

I have a 40k I’m going to install in place of the factory external cooler. How many people bypassed the internal radiator cooler and just ran the 40k? my climate is anywhere from 40-90 degrees upstate NY. I figured while the engine is out and I’m slapping a circle d converter now is the time
