Hi people, after years of waiting, searching, comparing and deciding (I'm preaching to the choir I know). I picked up a 07 V1 earlier this year. My decision to not go with a V2 was financial, and also I am knowledgeable with the modding route. So I planned on keeping things mild, and not wild with my new/old grocery getter. A Mp112 running 6-7lbs of boost was my plans....Until this past week of talking to manufacturers and tuners wanting a kit. If you haven't guessed by now....Im in Cali. Im aware of the CARB id number and have smogged vehicles accordingly. Tunes were never an issue and always ran clean. Im finding out now that a FI kit AND a year "specific" tuner for my 07 with CARB #'s is literally unrealistically challenging. I even talked to a tuner that used to be in SoCal and moved outve due to the challenges. He wouldn't say anything except "sorry" and "offroad" lol. He was scared to have a conversation with me literally. It was a true eye opener. So! What options do I have with my 07? I'm not looking for wild. I have a old camaro for that. I wanted to stay away from internals due to my rpm range being 1k to 4k. Turbo is outve the question for the previous statement of rpm range. I've installed a maggie on a old 5.3l truck i had. I really enjoyed everything about it. Hence my continual uphill research battle. Thanks guys and gals.
Cars current mods are LS7 clutch, muffler delete (yes cats and sensors are there), shocks, air intake, plugs et

Geez.... I might as well start looking for car mods on the dark web or something. Everyone seems scared sh..less about recommending car mods that still stay within bounds? I highly doubt I'm the only owner of a 07 V1 in Cali. Has Ca. really neutered even discussing options?

I don't think Cali has limited the discussion, just there is more interest on this board for V2 and now V3 than the V1.

A buddy of mine has one, loves, but we're in Florida and don't have to deal with that level of crazy....just people who move to Florida.

No offense, but you may be the only active V1 owner currently on the forum, going back to when this forum started for the V2 specifically, the V1 section was added out of courtesy and simply never caught in.

I believe most V1 owners were on the LSforum.

So don’t get butt hurt that nobody responded to you, it’s just there are no V1 owners to answer you.

Those are all valid responses that I need to take into consideration. Cali's level of crazy is a understatement for sure. It seems like tuning is one of those "First rule of Fight Club is...." lol. Anyways, I think my frustration is finding out my simplistic goals for my V1 are outve reach. The most frustrating part is I'm actually wanting to stay CARB compliant. For the first time in my life actually lol. No good deed goes unpunished lol.
Yes I am probably the only V1 owner on the forum currently. After this past month of doing my due diligence. I may put my V1 up for sale. And wait until a V2 comes up for sale that fits my needs. I really like my V1 dont get me wrong. I've always wanted a supercharged Cts-V though. Now excuse me while I go outside and let my car idle unnecessarily for a very long time. And hope a protected DODO bird doesn't fall outve the sky and hit my car from breathing my cars impure "pollution" lol. Thanks guys. Have fun with your V2's. (Disclaimer:Yes I am aware those birds are extinct and couldn't fly.)

I'd recommend the cts-v1 vs the world FB page, and if you don't have fb I'd suggest ls1tech. I actually thought an mp112 was ok for california? The groups above are most likely places to find a kit. I have an mp112 setup on my 05 that I was very likely going to sell at some point, but have just been too lazy to remove it all.

Thank you for the reply Ol Dude. I will check out FB and search around. Ls1 tech is a great site for vast amounts of knowledge. I've used it regularly to research. Essentially if your Magnacharger has a CARB id number then it is Ca legal. I believe it was a extra cost at the time when a kit was ordered back when. Though I could be wrong. When you you have an extra cup of ambition one day and take it off? Keep me in mind. Thanks
