Battery replacement

Help! I just replaced my 2017 CTS-V sport battery which was a total pain in the ass. After connecting the battery I attempted to start the vehicle with no success. The battery is putting out power because everything inside the vehicle is functioning but the engine will not start. Whenever I push the start button I only hear a clicking sound coming from Cabin of the vehicle. I know this sounds stupid but the clicking noise sounds as if it is coming from the cup holders/arm rest area. If anyone has had this issue and can recommend how to solve this issue it would be greatly appreciated.

Throw a scanner on the car and see if the CAN Bus is talking to the starter when you actuate. I have a Autel and a Think Tool and both will show activities when you activate circuits. This will let you know if you have a bad relay or even a defective starter. Otherwise, you could get under the car and pro be the starter and have someone push the starter and see if you have input. If you have input the starter would be defective. If not check the relays first. I have a 2013 and the starter relay was intermittent. I borrowed one from the fuse box and the car ran fine. I just bought all new relays and changed them all. Problem resolved for me... Anyway, if you need help send me a note and I will be glad to help.
It's not uncommon to get a bad "new" battery. Check the voltage at the battery. If it's below 12.5, take it back for a replacement.
Were there any large sparks when you replaced the battery? How did you determine the battery had to be replaced?

Sparks were give off. Old battery was dead, wouldn't hold charge. I removed it and had it tested, turned out bad. Got a new, new battery and the engine started but would not turn off. Had to pull ignition fuse to get engine to stop running. Somewhere along the line it seems as if I have an ignition issue.
