I had my American Racing Headers melt into my positive battery cable running from the battery in the back to the front fuse box. You can see a bit of evidence of the burn in the existing wires under the new power cable. Does anyone have any pictures of factory routing/attachment to the chassis? My motor mounts certainly contributed to the contact, but I also think that any factory chassis attachment/heat management was missing or it was routed incorrectly.

I have routed a new OEM cable and took some pictures. I would love any feedback or suggestions on how to get this exactly like it left the factory. Does the factory put any heat sleeving on the positive cable?

I searched a ton for pictures, but the bay is so tight it is very hard to see. down in the gap with a motor installed and factory plastics.

I would also love any good shots under the ECU showing the routing of the positive cable

I don't have a handy picture, but the ground and power are routed in a configuration you will not have any issue. Quick suggestion, it does get warm with headers, consider fiber wrap.

Thanks for the reply. I was 100% going to add some type of heat insulation. I have had good luck with the fiber wrap that had a foil covering.

Does the cable typically go behind that black bracket and slot above that existing wire bundle as I have it in the picture?

I have half a mind to find a dealer in Atlanta with a V and just go look at a car.

Gonna bump this instead of starting a new one.

Does anyone have a picture or diagram of the alternator cable routing (the big one on the back) ?
Trying to change that wire, and re-route it up top, away from the headers, but with all the crap in the engine bay I'm having a hard time tracing it, even thu I have it pulled up, I can't see where it's going after/behind the engine/trans.

Yeah. I did not realize it has fused link, looks like x2 (was gonna just replace the whole thing with 4awg wire). When my new alternator to battery/starter cable gets here, it should make more sense to me, since I'll be able to look at the whole thing outside the engine.
