Hello guys,

Ive Been having some issues with my fuel pump on the passenger side. It’s noticeably leaking fuel (drips) and has a strong smell in the passenger seat.First noticed when I would accelerate under a heavy load and it would misfire so I would let off and slowly gas it and then back to normal. I had a CEL pop up with code 2635. I’ve been driving it as it’s my daily and wanted to take it to the shop to have it looked at. They weren’t able to get to it so I plan on pulling through with a new pump with upgraded drop ins and the aluminum top hat. Today car started running funny and when slowly driving it home it would randomly backfire pretty loud. I’ve searched and couldn’t find a solid answer.

really want to get this fixed which is why I’m pulling through with the new pump since I’ll be self diagnosing with a buddy and could Install since we’re already down there. I’ve get 1300 fic injectors, and aux fuel pump.

has anyone had this exact same issue and if so did a new pump solve it?

(sorry for lengthy post and if it seems unorganized)

My money is on 90 degree fitting leaking on the hat under the passenger side back seat. You have to cut an access hatch (easy) or drop the tank (hard) to access it.

Common problem in the V2. Search this forum and you'll find many others that have been through the same thing.

Or search ALM fuel hat for more details

I drilled out the old plastic 90 degree and installed a -6AN 90degree full flow fitting, hooked it right into the factory fuel line. You’ll need a flexible 10mm fuel tube with Oetiker clamps, I bought the fuel tube from a website called Racetronix. My fuel pumps were still working fine with my ID1050x injectors so I decided not to replace them yet, if they do end up failing it’s easy enough to pull the fuel module again once you cut an access panel under the rear seats. Make sure you use nylon washers and a special Loctite adhesive to seal the top hat it’s called Hysol E-120hp item number - 4UK12
