My owner's manual says ...
Auxiliary Devices
The 3.5 mm (1/8 in) input jack and
the USB port (if equipped), located
in the center console bin, allow
portable devices to connect to the
vehicle.
Has anyone been able to play MP3 files via the USB port described above...?
If so, what are you using as an auxiliary device and how did it work...?
I've tried a portable SSD with almost 1000 MP3 files and it rejected that so I tried an SD card with the same files and it rejected that also. Both times it said that it was an unsupported USB device.
Thanks for any tips on getting this to work as we're taking the Vagon to the Peach City Beach Cruise (car show, etc.) in Penticton, BC (Canada) and would like our tunes to play through the sound system

It's been a while since I've messed with mine but I just used a usb drive but you can't format NTFS, I think it requires plain old FAT (or FAT32, can't remember). It's also picky on the encoding type of the MP3s. If I had an incompatible encoded file nothing showed up. Try formatting the drive and added a few files first to see if they show up then add in batches from there.

If you have a iPod and the white cable, plugging that in to the USB port gives you control of the iPod through the head unit. I bought an iPod specifically for this, when I bought my V. Was a little flakey, but worked about as good as one could hope most of the time.

Now, I've got a "Tesla style" replacement HU which is Android based. I have my entire music library on a 256GB USB stick that's plugged in to one of the ports. But mostly I hot-spot it to my cell phone and stream.

Problem solved... V system did not like my SSD portable hard drive nor my SD to USB adapter so found a couple of 4 GB flash drives and put part of my tunes on each of them...! Thanks for all the help and suggestions...!
