I’m considering doing some dual exhaust cutouts and previously had DMH and QTP, prone to leaking in my experience.

This Doug’s design seems pretty slick and all but by the looks they are a bit larger. I have a V2 sedan and would be installing them before the mufflers like I’ve seen to be pretty common, but am concerned on the size. Thankfully (?) I’m stock ride height.

Anyone using these and/or have experience with them?

Used one for years on my TBSS with zero problems. When I was researching them the recommendation was to install them as far away from the cat as possible to prevent burning them up.

The size might be an eyesore on a V2 that far back.

I had the guillotine style on my ss truck for years and were great quality. Never used this type.

Guillotine stile, I don’t think I’ve seen that. Are you talking about the dmh or qtp throttle body like ones? Link?

Yes the Doug's is a guillotine style cutout. That red piece slides up and down to open / close. This is less prone to failure than the butterfly styles where the gears fail.

The vacuum driven cutouts are the one that I was looking at...if I was going to do it.

The vacuum ones are for normally aspirated cars... There are some available that open only under boost, which is ideal.
The vacuum ones will also be open when you first start the car.
I will see if I can find the one I saw

Pretty sure was was normally closed, so closed at startup, and the vacuum only pulled when selected.

But I can easily be wrong.

A big reason I did do it, was the cutouts with turn downs hanging low with them and the QTPs.

I think the ZL1’s and maybe even the V3’s and Corvettes have the that style of exhaust, I think in the muffler tho maybe not a cut out specifically. But I would consider something like that if mufflers were readily available. Only problem is the dual tips vs the quad tips, where tips 3+4 are for the dual mode exit.
