Steering wheel wiring in particular? I tried to wire this new LED steering wheel to my cruise control with no success. There are many wires to choose from under there, but I have no idea which one to pick from. I’m honestly a bit chicken shit to just pick a couple and try them bc I don’t wanna F something up.
If anyone has any experience and can pick for me(haha) I’ll probably have a better chance of hitting the right ones.
All kidding aside, anyone have an idea of which one is a good one to take a chance on here? Wiring is way outta my league. The Cruise control didn’t work, so I’m at a loss here. The 2 in my hand are the steering wheel wires. Pretty simple, black and red. Also, the bigger connector goes into the clock spring anf the smaller one I don’t really know, but imagine it’s usable.

Thanks guys
Kenny

Seriously, you need to obtain a schematic and determine the proper wiring. No effing way I would just try cutting random wires.
Are there LED backlights in the stock switch buttons (I assume there are but don’t recall) but that’s the circuit I would guess.
However…. you haven’t told us what an “LED steering wheel” is or what it does? Mood lighting? Does it have other functions?
What did the SELLER provide for instructions?

I thought I posted it when I received it MrSurly 🤷🏼. However, yeah I got it from Vladi here someone a while back told me about. Has speed, rpm and a few other things I’ll tell when I figure this shit out. I did test it directly with a battery and it seems to be working properly as far as the lighting.
Where do I get a schematic? What the hell is a schematic?

Try this:

He starts at 2:30. Looks like a purple wire for power but he doesn't go into the ground side.

Here is one for a Camaro. Might be similar to ours.

Start at the 4:50 mark.

There are 2 wires that are at the top of the wheel that will have a terminal that looks like a speaker terminal you can tap one of them for ground..

They are the two he pulls with the pliers. He shows them at 6:12 in the video.

Here is a schematic (Wiring Diagram) of the cruise control wires.

HELLLLLLLL yeah I gotter up and runnin! RPM and MPH good to go!! I ran outta time today to finish putting everything back together, but once it’s all done I’ll post a video here.
I ended up grounding to the black wire in the same connector. Stumbled across it while testing for one. I will say, not sure if a ground will make a difference or not, but the LED didn’t turn on after start up until I actually turned the steering wheel on myself. Again, I ran outta time to play around with it today, but will do that tomorrow. Either way, it’s working and working correctly. Much much appreciated PGA2B!!

You bet! Glad I could help!

Can't wait to get mine even though it's not LED.

Yes, a quality ground matters. And, depending on load, the size/gauge of wire matters.

The wires appear to be about 22 gauge, so pretty small. Doesn't take much to supply the LED display.
