A couple of questions for you

Hi All,

As the title suggests I have a couple of questions that I woukd like to ask to get some help with my Gen 2 CTS V.

1 - Tunai Firefly.. Where do you plug yours into ? My USB port under the armrest doesnt seem to provide any volts so I have to use the Cigarette lighter port but that doesnt switch off with the engine and as such the Firelfy stays on permanantly unless I unplug it everytime I switch the car off.

2 - I now park in a multi storey car park and have noticed a clicking/ticking sound coming from both front wheels when I turn the steering wheel and turn in any diection when moving , I have onlt noticed this in the car park due to the lack of other noise and slow speed of travel.. Any ideas what this might be ? Its at regular intervals and initially I thought I had a stone in the tyre.

Any help would be much appreciated..
Thanks

What year is your V? I have an 11 and my firefly works just fine in the usb port.
The noise your are referring to - miles on car?
Could be at worse wheel bearing but could also be sticky brake pads (condition of brake fluid?) could be a rock in between the pad and rotor? Could speculate all day. Best thing to do is Jack the front up and spin the wheel to see if you can replicate the noise…
2 piece or 1 piece front rotors? If they're 2 piece you can check the torque of the rotor/hat bolts. And also make sure the wheel & hub mating surfaces are clean and torqued to spec. Happened to me with my Charger's 2 piece rotors. Cleaning/torquing everything properly silenced it.

Apparently there was a “wheel clicking issue” and maybe even a TSB issued some years ago. Search the phrase in the forum.

The Tunai doesn't need anymore power than it gets from the USB that plugs into. I've had it plugged in for week and didn't kill the battery. It was, literally for me, the 1st "mod".

Common issue bud. Here's the fix:

Pull off front wheels. Clean rotor hat and back of wheel (the two surfaces that meet when wheels are on) with brake cleaner. Spray brake cleaner on a rag, be careful to only use on the unpainted aluminum.

After cleaning, apply a very thin layer on anti-seize lube to the rotor hat. Very thin, like applying wax. Reinstall wheels, torque to 110 ft/lbs. If you still hear anything, torque to 140 ft/lbs. That will take care of it.

Torque spec on lug nuts is 140 ft/lbs. Why the recommendation to initially stop shy?

They went back and forth, if I recall correctly. Figure the anti-seize might make the extra torque unnecessary. It did on mine
