Figured id make a seperate post about my car as its not really the run of the mill build and ive gone out of my way to work on making the car as fast as possible, with as few mods, and without losing any of what makes it a cadillac. Also wanted to help open peoples eyes in regards to the capabilities of the LT4 platform with a little work in the right areas.

When I first got the car my goal was to go 10s tune only, which as far as I know,I was the first and only to do so with a [email protected] mph

My next goal was to see how fast I could go with some basic bolt ons, no meth, no e85, no cooling mods, no fuel system upgrades, 100% stock fuel system, and a full weight car.

I wasnt sure if I could go 9s at first, but now that ive ran the car down the track a bunch, it looks easily achievable with the right tires/track prep. Currently my old MH racemasters are not cutting it and are too tall for the car.

So for the build, I ended up with :
-Ported LMP stock LT4 supercharger and a 2.175 griptech upper pulley
-103mm TB
-Rotofab Big Gulp Intake

For fuel it is running 93 octane + a heavy blend of boostane professional mix at the track, tuned by me

I ended up having a lot of issues hooking up, so I had to cut power in 1st gear to hook, but I did still manage a [email protected] mph with a 1.49 60 foot
After a few hot laps and getting air flow through the cooling system I was able to run a best 138.50 MPH 1/4 mile trap speed.

Obviously anyone that knows drag racing can see the car will go 9.8-9.9 with a good 60 foot and cooled off pass based on these figures. Im waiting patiently for my mickey thompsons that have been backordered for 6 months lol

Im extremely impressed with how quick the car is going with a stupid basic mod sheet. and doing it through 100% factory exhaust, cats, etc

Awesome times for minimal mods. Any idea what kind of power it's putting down?

Even though M&H Race Tires is not heard of as much as they were back in the day, they were the ones that invented the 'Wrinkle Wall' Drag Slick. Very innovative people. . . .

Its never been on a dyno as I street/track tune the car, id imagine it has to be north of 700 whp to do what its doing

Yea, I ran the MH on my v2 and had good success, but it seems like the V3 really wants a 26 inch tire, it freaks out all kinds of systems and it just doesnt feel right on it.

Theyre decent tires, managed upper 1.4s, but I have ATSVs I tune going mid to low 1.3 60 foots on mickey et street Rs, and we have tried about every tire out there, most drag tires et street SS, hoosier, Mh etc can do 1.4/1.5s or so, but nothing seems to match the R currently. Id say the SS and hoosier are a bit better than the MH personally but we shall see.

Im pretty confident my 60 foot on the 26 inch et street R will be in the upper 1.3-1.40 range~

I was having to cut back timing and delay throttle in the tune to get it to hook on the MH, once I tried to bring some power back in they simply would not hold up, granted I wasnt at some special rental prep type deal, just a basic test and tune so that could be a part of the equation also.

Either way, its cool to see the car has the potential for a 9 second slip with a hair better 60 foot

Justin, this is kick ass, but you ran the car on race gas... By the time you did it, not exactly the same as... Well, shit man, you're going fast. That being said... CONGRATS.

Make sure you disclaim this... :) I only say that because oh lord... Get ready for "I blew up...." kick ass man. On efficiency that's what these motors are about. Cheers

Ps heavy blend... I add a few gal of race 109 or better.... But the average Joe won't.... Or they will run and torch the car.... Killer numbers. But.. Well you know :)

I posted what my fuel was, the car wasnt run on "race gas" but yes higher octane - 93 octane plus a few cans of boostane

Ty sir, im happy with it, cars going crazy fast for a basic mod sheet, which was my goal, and doing so without meth or E

geez, you make it hard to justify a "big" build with those kind of numbers lol.

ive messed around with mine a little bit - looking at the stock tune its pretty obvious if you can keep the IATs and knock in check, itll leave a lot of timing in it and pick up some nice power. What are you doing with the COT? mine seems to jump into overtemp and dump fuel on any pull after a couple seconds. i softened up the thresholds a little but still comes in, i'm not sure how much more i can get away with before actually doing damage.

i started out running a couple gallons of ms109 mixed with 93 then went ahead and put in the flex fuel sensor and run around E50 mix with an extra sensor and some fittings i had laying around. stock everything else, stock exhaust, stock air box, stock 19" street tires. no other mod. and its gone 11.2x pretty consistently.

I think i may just follow this recipe along with a larger cooling tank/chiller and with the cost of e85 and availability its less and less attractive lately.

yea it absolutely pulls a lot of power when it gets hot which happens relatively quickly. I disable COT, as do 99% of tuners, if my cats melt, ill do headers or delete them so not really worried about it, but so far so good, but im not out there running 20 minute track sessions or anything either.

E is great, idk what kinda 60 foot and MPH youve got but would think with a good E50 tune you could go 10s at mid/upper 120s MPH pretty easily

yep, pretty much nailed it - im just stomping it off the line and its doing 1.7x 60s. I havent unlocked the tcm yet to play with shift and stall settings. @125-127mph. Car 4482 below. i'll put it on a better tire, but not a drag radial so i dont expect it to do much better
I'll nix the COT completely, it still seemed to come in as it shifted into 5th (~100mph) may pick up another mph or two with it gone.
anyway keep at it, cant wait to see how little it takes to get into the 9s!

yea,get the tcm tuned and rid of the throttle cut in first with a better 60 foot and it will pick up a ton.

For sure, At this point its a 60 foot away from 9s, just needs a new set of mickeys that will hook up and it should be no issue. I dont plan to race the car a ton, but would be cool to actually hit 9s just to say I did
