6M 2nd 3rd 5th gear lockout

Yesterday the tranny would do that dumb thing where it does the "fuel saver" and locks out the gears. The thing that annoyed me was trying to get it to unlock by flooring it in first gear once or twice and it would remain. Finally after a few pulls it would let me back in. This also happened on the freeway earlier the same day after stopping in stop and go traffic. Once I got up to freeway speed I tried to do a pull in 4th to see if it would let me into 5th and i took a few times. This is annoying and sometimes feels unsafe to not be able to choose any gear I might need. Could there be a reason its not unlocking when i think it should? Does anyone else run into this issue? Car was also in competition mode which you would think would stop this feature from even engaging. I did recently install a short throw shifter but Its hard to say if that is contributing to it because I haven't driven the car since last year before installing it this year.

I have seen the kits where you can eliminate this feature on the trans but really don't want to go there yet.

Had this happen to me countless times over the years. Even took it to the dealership and they couldn't replicate it. I figured out it would happen often after cruising through a parking lot in 1st gear. If I shifted to 2nd it was fine, but if I stayed in first and was on/off the gas it would lock me out.

When's the last time you changed your clutch and trans fluid? Since I started doing that regularly it hasn't happened again. I also have a Core shifter now and haven't experienced it.
Good to know Im not the only one that creeps sometimes haha it doesnt happen often either its just that one time it does happen it hasn't been wanting to go back to normal. The new plug arrived yesterday and I plan on putting it in sometime this week/end. Last time I changed the tranny fluid and did the ranger method on the clutch resevoir was 2018. I don't drive it often but I should change it again this summer. Always use oem fluids.

I'll report back on how the new plug works, its not a easy thing to replicate but i will try
Installed the new harness. Tight fit between the tunnel and the trans. You will probably need a flat head to unplug the sensor from the trans. Connected everything and first time starting the car no issues. Second time I started it shortly after CEL. Cleared the code for skip shift low voltage. Haven't driven it since so hopefully once clearing the code once it stays off. Website claims their harness would not trigger a CEL so might have to reach out to them if it persists.
I've ordered the harness from your link. I occasionally have similar issues with the silly thing. There are lots of times when I need to try to be 'low key' around the neighborhood and skip-shift makes it a pain.

My tuner just switched it off in the tune..
My 1st gen had skip shift. My 2nd gen is 100% stock and doesn't have skip shift. IIRC the 2nd gen doesn't have skip.

The 6MT Gen2 V definitely HAS skip shift.

Wow, I never hit it. My 1st gen I'd hit it all the time.
Check engine light remains, reached out to the company and have not gotten a response.
Vendor replied back and said there was likely a broken contact in the harness. They have sent a replacement
