So after a very long time, finally got the Dart 427 motor in. I’ve posted the specs before but here they are again:

427 Dart LS Next
Dart CCW BILLET CRANK
Kong 2650
Kong billet lid
Frankenstein F310 heads
Callies Enforcer boost rods
JE custom coated pistons
custom grind Isky cam
NW 102 TB
Nitrous Outlet 102 plate.
PNR ICE BOX
FOR TRIPLE PUMP and OD 1300X2 Injectors

for those that saw my earlier post, engine made 1200 HP on the engine dyno at about 6500 rpm when the shops fuel pumps gave out.

I just got the motor in the car and the car back from wet sand/buffing

tune is forthcoming as soon as I get the tires in for the welds.
here’s some pics and some vids. Hope you guys enjoy. Has been a terribly long journey and I’m just about financially ruined but YOLO lol.

The sound from the Kong billet lid is crazy. I would not have switched from my ZL1 lid however the Frankenstein heads are about a 1/4-1/2 inch taller and thus the lid no longer cleared my hood. After hearing the increased air noise from the Kong lid, I’m happy I did the swap.

Btw, is there an easier way to upload videos? I had to create a whole YouTube page because photobucket doesn’t work and I can’t upload them straight to the forum

One hell of a combo and you are going to spray it??? Is a 15” conversion in the works for traction?

Would love to see some data how much that lid helps between pulls compared to the zl1 setup.

Oh I am absolutely going to spray. Looking to do about a 150-200 shot although the build should take upwards of a 300 shot

the car hooked on a prepped street at the 950 rwhp range with no issues. Obviously I should be at more power but I am going to try the ET street R’s which have worked for me. I also have a full 28x17 slick from m and H that I will try if the ET’s don’t work. If all else fails then at some point in the distant future I suppose I may go to the 15 inch. Just not right now.

additionally, here a pic of the motor before I changed out the lid. I love how the zl1 lid looks but due to the Frankenstein heads being taller I was forced to switch for clearance.

for what it’s worth, the bricks inside the kong lid are massive.

That gives me engine envy.

I too like the look of the ZL1Lid.

Question. Can you keep it really quiet, to be the sleeper?
the videos I posted are with the stock muffler in the rear. It has custom 2 inch Kooks headers that go into the stock muffler and that’s as quiet as it gets. The billet Kong lid as also a lot louder then the ZL1 lid, I assume because it’s billet. It almost sounds like a turbo or Procharger.
