Ok so I just had my engine built and I am putting the pickup tube back on. I am using a Melling 10355 oil pump and I have my OEM pickup tube. I have ARP man cap studs. What seems to be happening (or so from what I can see) the pickup tube is bottoming out on the oil pan. I have a 1/4 gap in between the oil pan gasket and the oil pan with the screen part of the pickup tube bottoming out. Has anyone else had this issue?

it should be close to the bottom but not hitting it before the pan is closed. There's a support bracket that gets attached to the end of one of the main bearing cap studs. Make sure that is attached. Also are you sure it is hitting the bottom?

LSA block?

I had to adjust mine with a Dart block. Stick some tape over the pickup screen, slap some play-doh on it and put it back together. Check and bend, check and bend.
Yup, LSA block. I had no choice but to tap the screen part in a bit to make it fit. Very odd it came off fine and the ARP nut is not any different than the stock one.
