Hey guys,
Having issues during some spirited driving on my 2012 CTSV Auto car.
During any mode (D or Sport) the car does not want to shift on its own under heavy throttle. Regular driving it shifts fine.
Previous owner said it might be something weird in the owner before him’s tune, but not seeing any possible benefits to this.

have any of you experienced similar issues?

If you are in sport or hit the paddle shifter, the car will not shift on its own. You can put it in sport (without hitting the paddles and it will shift on it's own). There is a way in HPtuners to get the car to shift on its own in manual mode when (while downshifting to get to you 50 or 60 roll) "highway cruising" . Other than that, you will always bounce off the rev limiter if you hit the paddles.

Yes I am aware that once paddle shifting or “slap stick” shifting it doesn’t shift automatically.

But like I mentioned, it doesn’t shift in any mode under hard acceleration. It will hit limiter and then cut off unless I release gas pedal.

Probably in the WOT Tables in trans tune.

Do you have HP Tuners?

If so you might go to the HP Tuners forum and post a tune and ask for help.

If you don't have HP Tuners either get it or you will need to find a tuner local to you.

I had my tuner set the trans to always shift just before the rev limit including in manual mode except for 5th to 6th. I have to manually shift there.

if gearbox shifts were setup with a higher engine rpm and then the rpm was lowered and shifts not adjusted it will just hit the limiter and not qualify for the shift, WOT shifting needs a rpm and a speed value to be met before an engine limiter if not it wont shift, if u go back to like 80-90% throttle see if its fine there if it is then its just the WOT and 100% throttle areas just need to be adjusted, most of the time if u also making more power u have to start the shifts even earlier so gearbox has time to make the shift before the limiter especially in the 1-2-3 gears

I have an appointment for Injectors/E85/tune at GPTuning for Sept 23rd. I don’t drive the car super often right now but was just worried it was a bigger issue.
Appreciate all the input guys 🙌🏼
