Took a drive out from Los Angeles to Sacramento to hit the strip and visit some friends with my fiancé (what a trooper and cheerleader she became) haha.

Previous best runs were between 11.20 and 11.30 @126 mph with a 1.57 60' on my stock clutch. Well.... I blew the clutch a couple months ago and hauled it home on my friend's trailer .

Here were are with a new Centerforce DYAD clutch.

Took me a few attempts to get a clean run in ( I kept missing my 2-3 shift ). I installed a core shifter and realized I had to shift Straight UP on my 2-3 shift rather than moving right).

After four frustrating runs in the 11's while missing 3rd, I finally made a clean pass. Last pass of the day :)

1.662 60'
10.897 @ 130.52
DA 1900'
89 Degrees

I was purposely being conservative on the launch and shifting due to my prior experience with the stock clutch. Now that I have my method down, I'll be a little more aggressive next time out.

With a temperature of 89 degrees and a DA of 1900', I'm happy with my results . Drove her in, drove her out, landed in San Francisco for the night, and driving her home tomorrow.

Thanks to Trainman for letting me borrow his beautiful wheels and tires. Thanks a million, greatly appreciate your generosity in lending me your wheel setup, and sharing your knowledge and experience.

I know I could cut a couple tenths off, gain a few mph, drop my 60' to the 1.5xx range, and shift a little better. There's always next time :)

Some more pictures.

Also, I had my car aligned the day prior; the rear camber was adjusted to -0.9 degrees on both sides (maxed out the adjustment). It used to be at -1.7 degrees. Big improvement!

Great run! Nice 60'. What's your launching rpm/method with the centerforce?

Congrats on the 10 sec pass.

Nice runs, so you essentially knocked 3.-.4 tenths off your et with the clutch?
Clutch, GForce 4.5" intake, 102mm throttle body. The car gained 40hp , .40 ET, and 5mph since my last track visit. :)

Launching above 4000rpm resulted in wheel spin while launching below 3500rpm resulted in a slight bog.

With the stock clutch I was able to hit a 1.57 60' time... but that was using a 5000rpm slip method . I didn't want to risk it with the new clutch setup and a get smacked with a 400 mile tow home :( .

I guess that's why they call it Test N Tune . I'll be back for more .

BTW, I revised my first post. DA was approximately 1900'.

Thanks,

Allen

Quick slip or dump?
Quick slip. Unfortunately, I didn't really have too many runs to try different launch / shifting methods. If I could get my hands on a pair of 17" slicks with wheels to fit over the rear brakes, I'll definitely consider dumping the clutch at an even higher RPM.

Nice man, cool seeing more manual cars cracking in the 10s these days.
It does seem like there is a lot more activity on the 6MT side of things these days. Really cool to see.
