so im having an issue with a new to me 2004 CTS V. every time i start the car the "HTR VLV/CLTCH" fuse blows. cars starts and runs fine, but i am unable to restart the car without replacing that blown fuse. the previous owner rigged up some sort of switch to that fuse that consisted of an appliance cable with the wires shoved under the blades of the fuse, and i was told to have the switch "on" to start the car then immediately turn the switch "off" after the car started. my original thought was that it was some sort of a "kill" switch but now im beginning to think there was some other issue going on that he was putting a patch on rather than fixing the problem. So, the switch wiring has been completely removed. ive taken a resistance reading between the ports of the fuse with the fuse removed and its reading out of limits as it should. ive replaced the ING 1 relay and the clutch position sensor on the clutch master cylinder rod under the dash. ive also tried to start the car without the clutch pedal depressed in case there was some sort of remote start installed at some point but the car didnt turn over then either. any help as to next steps would be greatly appreciated!

Someone may chime in but there typically isn’t much v1 activity on this forum it’s mostly V2-V3. Good luck

Ls1Tech has a V1 section that was fairly active (last I looked)

thanks for the heads up!
No problem, I’d check obvious stuff like grounds etc, bent pins on connectors etc, maybe check the connector on bottom of fuse panel. I’m sure you’ve looked but if not decent place to start
