I want to spin the blower a little faster, but only if its easy. Don't really feel like doing a lower balancer to install a larger lower pulley. (I know, its the right way). Can I just simply swap my Lingenfelter 2.55 upper for any other 2.4 and just change the belt? Or does it require a 100mm idler?

If I see a peak of 12.5-13psi now. What should the 2.4 upper net me? I realize boost is a negative effect of poor airflow. But it also is a way to pick up cheap HP. My fuel system should be fine.

You'll probably see 1psi increase. If Lingenfelter makes a 2.4, I'd suggest getting that. Don't know if a Griptec is the same or not. No idler changes required.

I have a 2.4 griptec upper but i also have 9.17 lower, no idler is required but it would help with belt wrap. Have you done anything exhaust wise to free up flow?

I have the 2.4 upper with stock lower. I see about 14psi. I will be doing a lower pulley when the other motor is done. Or if I get bored I may do it on the current setup.

They say the relocation bracket isn't needed with the 9.17 but on my set up I found that the lower and idler were slightly pinching the belt and I had to remove the idler to get the belt off.

With headers and and Matt's 2.5 cam I see about 12.5 lb boost with 2.38 upper. But less "boost" is a good thing provided everything is working properly. it means your engine is allowing airflow more freely. I should have done the lower when I had the engine out

Sure, I understand. I just don't plan to crack this longblock open. I just want to safely maximize the bolt on theme. Possibly even port the blower/snout someday.

If I installed a 10% overdrive lower pulley (dayco 8.7) with the 2.55 upper, would that spin the blower too fast? My intake temps are pretty reasonable right now. I never see more than 130, but I dont beat on it for too long. If I am at 12psi now, would that bump me up to about 14?

what does the rest of your HX set up look like?
my feelings have always been stick with the 2.55, it fits, no belt relocations no grinding, simple
but if you have e85 readily available DO THAT

It has an underhood expansion tank, some kind of lower grill HX, EMP pump and reinforced brick. 2inch longtube, 3inch exhaust and cut outs. Id1050s, 2.55 and airaid. I may not have enough pump for E85, maybe a blend.

This is a good little calculator.

As a payback, I most exclusively stick with Lingenfelter, very good products, I never mind spending a little more for good service and info, I know everything costs money to produce. ;)
