I searched the forum. I found versions of this question asked but apparently not answered.
I am primarily wanting to know if anyone has performed this change withOUT replacing the lower control arm completely?
My high-mileage Magrides still work; I don't want to lower the car; I don't want to alter its ride quality significantly; I don't want to disable Stabilitrak.
The WeaponX kit retains the stock magrides and springs but they using a fabbed LCA and... their stuff is unavailable.
The BMRsuspension/Carlysle kit is sort of available but their fabbed LCA requires that you additionally buy coil overs (from another vendor).

I have some Carlysle brakes on the way. When I get into fitting things up I will then determine whether to buy someone's kit OR to perform fabrication.
I can buy individual parts from BMRsuspension, such as strut and toe rods but I don't want their LCA.

Has anyone around here modded and retained the OEM rear LCA while converting to fit a 15" wheel??

I may have missed the mention...were you able to retain parking brake function? I grabbed calipwers from eBay and the rotors from BMR because I think the parking brake is retained with that setup. (the WpnX kit eliminates it) and as my coupe is a M6, I MUST have a brake. Just wondering if the P brake required using base model parts inside it.

Yes. My parking brake still works. BMR uses base model JE5 rotors. You’ll have to either trim the OD of the backing plates or buy the base model backing plates that I used (part numbers in thread). The actual parking brake hardware is the same for V’s and base models. You’ll also have to tie back the parking brake cables to clear the 15” wheels.

Sweet! I thought that I saw the cable re-installed in the earlier pics. The WeaponX kit eliminates the P brake and that's something I could not tolerate. Just another reason to go with the Carlysle/BMR setup. I will also use the base model backing plates. Great thread; I hope to replicate a good bit of your mods though I'll never match your workmanship.
