Sooooo,

Some of you have been checking out my Centerforce Clutch Install thread. I finally managed to get the car back together and working right late this week. I also got ~600 total miles on the clutch and about stop and go miles (Tireless driving around London) before I got her on the Dyno.

We took her to a Dyno Dynamics along with some friends' RX7, VR6 Golfs, C63 and CLS63 AMGs.

I ended putting out 630 at the wheels on this particular roller (guessing high 600s on DynoJet). We did get some KR up top so it was dialed back just a tad. Come to find out, IATs were too hot to start the pull with . The tune doesn't pull KR on the street. Considering what the other cars put down, it was a beast.

Some more break in miles before I start shifting hard and we hit the track. This is my first time on drag radials but it is POURING rain. The track laid a new tarmac last week as well and we were the first to run on it. The track has a 9ft incline from start to finish so its not known for the fastest times. With no prep, new rubber, and new tarmac, I wasn't expecting the best conditions. I was wrong.

I pre-loaded at around 1K RPMS when I bogged that bad boy. I did recover and managed to salvage some of the run but overall I am not too happy about the 60ft. Considering it was the first time I guess I'll cut myself some slack. We didn't get to do another run due to rain. If I can manage to get the 60ft to 1.6-7, then we are talking. Maybe I underestimated the difference in a drag radial.

As far as the clutch, there is chatter but it seems its getting better with break-in. It obviously did its job well at WOT. I will keep updates on it.

They absolutely love it! Especially how gnarly it sounds. Hearing an old school V8 isn't that common especially with the fuel prices. I constantly get asked to give it a REV. My buddy with a tuned, full exhaust exhaust, TB C63 AMG managed a [email protected] on Hoosier DRs with a better 60ft than me. Not a fast track by any means.

Thanks guys! Clutch keeps getting chatter in first and under 1.5K RPM but no mechanical issues. I went on to run an [email protected] on a later date but my cooling system failed with IATs climbing to 200+ as indicated by the trap speed.

Oh yea I'm good now, the RX mini tank exploded that was why. I got that fixed and now run a Jabsco pump. I'm still wondering how good that run would have been if I managed to run full power past the 1/8th. Seems I was destined to run a low 11/high 10. My highest trap before was 127.

Nice times!

I'd like to see one of you manual guys install a 2 step and see how well that works. My 60s in my last manual car were never all that impressive until I installed one - let me focus on the lights and not the RPMs.

Yea my first run I made was 127.7mph my IAt2's got up to 154* but the run started at 119* iat2's... So it pulled timing a little sounds like we need to try some ice! But my track won't let me run without a roll bar fr jacket and 5 point..

I felt like I bogged but cut a 1.7 60ft. Only got two runs in today due to rain. I should be able to cut a 1.6 with a tad more practice.
