    Steering wheel

What GM wheels fit the CTSV. I have a 06 and would like to put a alcantara steering wheel in it.
    Thanks

    Steering wheel

Don't swap wheels or airbags from different models!!! They were designed to work with the vehicle they came in.

You would be much better off to get your current wheel wrapped in alcantara.

I'm still planning on swapping my V2 wheel for an ATS-V wheel. Partly because it looks better, but mostly because it will be hilarious to see you all freak out about it.

You can get take-off wheels on ebay for around $100. There's where I got mine (and no it's not for sale).

I love the civic drivers that take their steering wheels off after they park and either, A) hang the steering wheel from the rear view mirror, B) carry it around with them (y tho) or C)

I'm confused, is the "suede" steering wheel option for the V's not Alcantara? I thought they were, or at least are close enough. I swapped my leather wheel out for, uhhh, I guess the Suedecantara one and love it. Or would that be Alcansuedea?
Meh, either way it looks good, feels good, and oh yeah, most importantly it keeps Larry from coming to my house and beating my skull in with a 9-iron as he yells "THIS IS WHAT YOUR FACE WOULD FEEL LIKE IF YOU GOT IN A WRECK WITH ANY OTHER STEERING WHEEL AND AIRBAG COMBO YOU FUCKWIT!"

    I'm happy with my choice.

I believe Alcantara is a [designer] brand of premium suede. My center console/armrest is Alcantara and its softer and thicker than my OE suede steering wheel.

Alcantara is microfiber. No relation to any cow.

It's far cheaper than leather and you get much higher ultilization % over leather because you don't have to cut around bug bites a scars on a cow hide.

Yet OEM's charge a premium for it over leather.

I would prefer to send mine out to have done or buy one already done, but I have not seen one for a 06-07 CTS-V

Seems like with the Takata recall growing, there is a 50/50 chance of getting your head blown off anyway.

Ha, Takata does not have that much market share. But let me put it this way......none of my vehicles have a Takata bag.

Anyone beside Redline, they only offer the cover. I would rather buy a wheel on a core charge if they are out there. If not, would 09 CTS-V wheel work?

    Don't listen to this guy.

It'll work. Just have it welded on.

After the wheel is welded on then you take a pair of wires directly from the battery and hook it to the connectors on the back of the airbag unit itself.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a professional mechanic however I am a professional moron.

It will work on the wheel to shaft connection for sure.

For the air bag to 12v connection no.

Those look really nice - too bad they don't have them for V2. Can't say I'm super impressed with my "suede" upgrade on the wheel
