    Finally joined the club

    Hi guys/girls,

New to the forum, finally got a CTS V last week. I bought a 2014 CTS V, black exterior, black interior, automatic, 4 door sedan., 58k miles. Been wanting one for years, finally made it happen. I love the car; its comfortable and STUPID FAST. The only fly in the ointment is that I have to drop it off at the dealer tomorrow because an oxygen sensor is bad, and it won't pair my phone....actually it won't even show bluetooth pairing in the command menu even though the build sheet says the car has bluetooth capability. Nonetheless, I am happy to be part of the club finally.
How do we attach images on here from a desktop??
Bone stock for now, will stay that way until I build up a cash cushion because I don't want to void the warranty.

Welcome to the club and don't worry about the faulty O2 sensor. If further down stream sensor then that problem will take care of itself when you add headers and a catless x-pipe.

I'm not too worried; its covered by warranty. A bit annoyed at the bluetooth thing, but that too is covered. Lol what bothers me is being without her for a couple days

    How long you had yours?

Nice to welcome another PNW member!
    Which black did you get?
For PC images, I use postimages.org. But, the Tapatalk app is my preferred method.
As for the Bluetooth, do a search. I forget off the top of my head what the solution was, but it's easy. ...unless there's a bigger issue.
    Good luck, and have fun!

Bluetooth has to be done through the voice command system. Hit the talk button on the wheel, say Bluetooth, then after the 'Bluetooth ready' prompt, say pairing... Then you can search on your phone and add 'Your Vehicle' with whatever the 4 digit code the system gives you. Then record the name for the device. Good to go.

    Nice.
I remember the owners manual being outdated on this.

I bought mine on 9/2017 but it’s an older 2012 which had no warranty left. I drove it everyday for 2 weeks then parked in the garage and put it on jack stands so I could add headers, catless X pipe and an Airaid CAI. It still had the paper plates.

I’m about to add a trunk tank, delete the HX and add a Interchiller. Hopefully by December I’ll have a used 2017 Charger Hellcat in my garage. That’ll give me something else to tinker with. My wife was furious to say the least when she found out I was already buying parts for a car I don’t even own. Truth is I couldn’t pass them up, they were priced to move.

    Very good.
The only con is that it’s always searching for new devices to pair with.

Hmmm. I've never noticed that. I'll have to pay attention to see that.

Hey guys, got my baby back from the dealer. They replaced a bad O2 sensor. Turns out I was mistaken on the bluetooth thing; my particular car did not come with bluetooth, which I found odd for a car that sold for 75k, but whatever.

Wtf? Yeah, you need to meet up with some local V owners; they will figure it out for you.
Anyone else with a '14 that doesn't have Bluetooth?

I'm thinking that's not right. The '09 I had for a little bit had Bluetooth, and my '12 has the same system... It's just tricky to access through the voice commands. You can't set it up through any accessible settings in the head unit.

You need a setup like this in your center console.

I've been screwing around with the bluetooth on my 2011 for over a month and finally gave up. It shows up on my phone, but that's about it, so I think it paired.

I believe if you want to stream your Spotify or whatever, you need to get something like that Tunai Firefly. Then, in the Bluetooth menu on your phone, it will say connected to your car, and to the Tunai. Also, the headphone icon shows up on the top right of my iPhone.
    Good luck.

I pair the phone often to the Tunai and the car.

I will unpair because I don't want, if I'm talking to someone on the phone and walking up to the car, having the car pick up the call in progress until I have the car started and ready to go.

That can be a pain. If I'm detailing the car, I'll use my Bluetooth speaker in the garage. Every time I open the car door to do something, the car takes over the signal. Can be frustrating.

10-4! For the garage I use speakers that plug into my Samsung 9plus and turn off Bluetooth.

The Tunai is so good, that it will, if using Bluetooth for my Denon, hijack the stream, since there is just the garage wall and 15-20 from the car in the garage and the entertainment center.
